What started as a one-man operation has grown into one of the most trusted pest control companies in the region, built on a foundation of honest service, local expertise, and genuine care for the communities we serve.
How It All Started
Walter McDuffie founded McDuffie Pest Control in 1964 in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, with a single part-time employee. Walter brought a scientific approach to pest control from the beginning. With a degree in entomology from North Carolina State University, he understood pest behavior at a level that set the company apart from day one. His focus was always on doing the job right, treating customers fairly, and building relationships that lasted.
That first part-time employee? Still on our team today, more than 50 years later. That kind of loyalty says something about the way this company operates.
As the business grew, Walter's daughter Dana grew up in the industry alongside him. Dana became an Associate Certified Entomologist, bringing the same scientific foundation and commitment to quality that her father built the company on.

We serve homeowners, families, and businesses across a broad area of southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina, from our home base in Elizabethtown to growing markets in Lumberton, Clinton, Leland, Wilmington, and the Myrtle Beach area. Our team includes experienced, licensed technicians who know the pest pressures of this region because they live here too.
