Walter McDuffie started the business in 1964 with one part-time employee, who is still on the team today. It remains family-owned and independently operated. Walter brought a degree in entomology from North Carolina State University, and his daughter Dana McDuffie, an Associate Certified Entomologist, grew up in the industry and works in it still. More than 60 years in, the company runs on the same idea it started with: do what you say you'll do, and treat customers like neighbors. McDuffie uses an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. Technicians inspect first, then choose the least invasive treatment that will solve the problem, rather than spraying everything by default.
